As humans we really don’t like uncertainty, so when something as important as the future of our work is uncertain it can send us into a bit of a spiral.
So, what is the solution?
1. Training our mind to look for what’s within our controlWe can’t control the craziness of the world, all we can control is ourselves. Look for ways that you can positively influence the situation that you’re in, there is always something that you can do that will improve your situation even if it's only in a small way. You might research stress management, look into financial support or reach out to family and friends for support.
2. Remind yourself that this is not foreverThis is a temporary setback and it will not go on forever. We don’t know when this will end but we do know that it will. Remind yourself of this when everything feels overwhelming.
3. Take care of yourself and reduce your stress levelsExercise, getting enough sleep and eating a healthy balanced diet do wonders for giving you the mental energy to deal with these challenging times.
