Role Description

Here at Apprenticeship Careers Australia, we currently have an exciting opportunity for applicants looking to start their career through a Certificate III Engineering Toolmaking over 4 years, located in Minto & hosted by Holloway Group.

Learn a trade that is becoming increasingly specialised and highly sought after. Toolmaking plays a critical role in Australia's manufacturing sector, offering strong long-term career opportunities across advanced manufacturing, engineering, and automation industries. Unlike many apprenticeships, you'll gain hands-on experience working on the precision moulds and tooling used to manufacture products supplied throughout Australia, learning directly from experienced Toolmakers from day one.

Trade-qualified or currently working in a mechanical, machining, fabrication, or engineering environment? This apprenticeship is an excellent pathway to develop specialist Toolmaking skills and build a long-term career in advanced manufacturing

Duties:

·        Learn to manufacture, repair, and maintain precision injection moulding tools.

·        Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

·        Assist with diagnosing tooling faults and carrying out repairs and modifications.

·        Perform preventative maintenance to ensure tooling reliability and performance.

·        Gain hands-on experience operating EDM machines, surface grinders, lathes, milling machines, and precision measuring equipment.

 

Skills and responsibilities:

·        Provisional Drivers Licence

·        Genuine interest in engineering, manufacturing, or mechanical trades.

·        Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

·        Willingness to learn and follow safe work practices.

·        Good mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach.

·        Reliable, motivated, and eager to build a long-term career.
