Here at Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA) we currently have an exciting opportunity for applicants looking to start their career through a Certificate III Parks & Gardens, located in Altona & our host employer, GMCT. 

Our Apprenticeship Program offers a unique blend of on-the-job training, mentorship, and classroom learning. As a trainee, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining practical experience and developing valuable industry skills. This program is perfect for recent graduates, career changers, and anyone eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment.

Duties:

• Assist with lawn and garden maintenance, including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and mulching to defined standards

• Carry out general horticultural tasks such as weeding, digging, raking, hedging, spraying, and operating irrigation systems

• Operate tools, plant, and machinery (including tractor and trailer) safely, with training and supervision

• Perform daily pre-start checks and assist with routine maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation

• Work collaboratively within a team to maintain parks, garden beds, and landscaped areas to a high standard

Skills and responsibilities:

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Ability to follow & adhere to policies and procedures 

• Drivers Licence and reliable transport

• A genuine interest in horticulture, landscaping, or outdoor work

• Physically fit and capable of manual work
