Role Description

Here at Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA) we have exciting opportunities for applicants looking to start their career in Aged Care through a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) over 14-16 months, located in Kadina, South Australia.

Our Traineeship Program offers a unique blend of on-the-job training, mentorship, and classroom learning. As a trainee, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining practical experience and developing valuable industry skills. This program is entry-level and perfect for career changers, people returning to work, and anyone eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment.

Who we are looking for:

  • Candidates who want to obtain a CHC33021 | Cert III in Individual Support (Ageing) (please note you are not eligible if you already hold this qualification).

  • Warm, respectful, and compassionate individuals

  • Great communicators who enjoy helping others

  • Willingness to obtain a National Police Check and NDIS worker check (if you do not have one already)

  • Candidates who can demonstrate a high level of empathy, problem solving, resilience, and customer service skills will be highly regarded

What you will learn:

In a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), you learn to provide person-centred care through skills in communication, legal and ethical practices, and supporting the independence and well-being of older people. Key learning areas include personal care, promoting healthy lifestyles, providing basic first aid, understanding healthy body systems, and working with diverse people.

Employment pathways for people who hold Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) could include:

  • Aged Care Worker: Provide direct care and support to elderly individuals in residential facilities.

  • Personal Care Assistant (PCA): Assist clients with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and medical needs.

  • Home Care Assistant: Provide support to clients in their own homes, helping them maintain independence.

  • Residential Support Worker: Offer care and support to residents in aged care facilities.

  • Community Care Worker: Support individuals in their own homes or community settings.

  • Respite Care Worker: Provide temporary care to relieve primary caregivers, allowing them a break.

  • Accommodation Support Worker: Assist clients in supported living or residential accommodation settings
