  • Willingness to attend and commit to trade school

  • Basic hand tools (e.g. drill, hammer) required for 2nd year apprentices only

  • 1st year apprentices are not expected to have tools

Role Description

ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP

  • Qualification: Certificate III in Cabinet Making & Timber Technology

  • TAFE: Holmesglen Institute – Chadstone Campus

  • Duration: 4-year apprenticeship

  • Hours: 38 hours per week

    • Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm

    • Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm

  • Overtime: Not required at this stage (may change in future)

  • Location: Carrum Downs (South-East Melbourne)

  • Work Split:

    • 90% factory-based

    • 10% site work
       

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Apprentice Cabinet Maker, you will learn and assist with:

  • Assembly of kitchen cabinets

  • Fitting doors, handles, and hardware

  • Use of hand tools and machinery

  • Cutting materials using various machines

  • Manual handling

  • Assisting team members as required

  • Working on kitchens and cabinetry projects
