Part-Time | 14–16 Month Traineeships | Earn While You Learn

Seeking expression of interest:

Here at ACA, we have exciting entry-level Aged Care Traineeships for individuals looking to start a new career, return to the workforce, or transition into the growing aged care industry.

This opportunity allows you to complete the nationally recognised CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) while gaining paid, hands-on experience across both Residential Aged Care and Home & Community settings.

You’ll support older Australians with their independence, wellbeing, and daily living while developing valuable practical skills in a supportive and rewarding environment.

This traineeship combines on-the-job training, structured learning, and ongoing mentorship, making it ideal for career changers, school leavers, return-to-work candidates, and people passionate about making a positive difference in their community.

What you’ll learn

Throughout your traineeship, you’ll develop skills in:

  • Person-centred care

  • Personal care and daily living support

  • Supporting independence and wellbeing for ageing people

  • Healthy ageing practices

  • Legal and ethical responsibilities

  • Workplace safety and infection control

  • Basic first aid and manual handling


Potential career outcomes

This traineeship can lead to roles including:

  • Aged Care Worker

  • Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

  • Home Care Assistant

  • Residential Support Worker

  • Community Support Worker

  • Respite Care Worker

  • Accommodation Support Worker


To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Not already hold a Certificate III in Individual Support

  • Hold a current Driver’s Licence and have access to a reliable vehicle (desirable for residential, but not mandatory)

  • Be willing to obtain a National Police Check

  • Be willing to complete First Aid and Manual Handling training
