Build a career from the ground up in one of Australia’s most in-demand trades. As a bricklaying apprentice, you will learn how to construct and repair structures using bricks and blocks across residential and commercial projects. This is an outdoor, physically active role where you can see the results of your work every day while earning as you learn.
What you'll do:
- Lay bricks and blocks to construct walls and structures
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
- Mix and apply mortar
- Measure and cut materials to size
- Repair and maintain existing brickwork
- Follow safety procedures on site

Applicants who have already completed a construction qualification are encouraged to apply. In particular:
- Certificate II in Construction Pathways CPC20220 may be used as an entry pathway into the Certificate III.
This ensures you have the foundational skills and knowledge needed to confidently progress into a higher level.

Once you have completed your apprenticeship with us, you will receive the following qualifications:
- Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying CPC33020
Career options available
After completing your qualification, you can apply for roles such as:
- Bricklayer or Blocklayer
- Subcontractor or business owner
- Site supervisor
- Specialist in restoration work

"I start early on site and help set up for the day. We go through the plans and what section we are working on. I spend the morning mixing mortar and laying bricks, making sure everything is level and straight. After breaks we continue building and checking our work. I enjoy seeing the structure take shape and knowing I helped build it."
