Traineeships – Personal Support (Residential)

About the role: 

While working as a Personal Carer Trainee, you will undertake tasks which directly deliver aspects of care & support to the residents of Estia Health. Tasks range from assisting people with personal care (daily living tasks), helping with dining at mealtimes, supporting individuals with activities, liaising & welcoming family & visitors and other tasks as directed.

As a Trainee you will be required to train on the job and study a Certificate III in Individual Support off the job. This is a paid traineeship with a Contract of Training and employment with Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA). You will be paid to work (minimum of 15 hours) per week over set shifts plus additional shifts should you choose. You will receive pre-entry skills training & buddy support as you start your traineeship with the end goal of becoming an integral member of the Estia Health team once qualified.

• Any previous exposure / experience working with vulnerable others will be of advantage, as would customer service skills gained from other sectors;
• A genuine interest to work caring for others, with high aspirations to make a difference
• Your capacity to work and communicate effectively in a large team
• Flexibility and adaptability as no one day will be the same!

Eligibility & Essential Criteria

To be considered for one an ACA traineeship you should:

• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent Australian resident
• Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination x2 and Booster or willing to obtain
• National Police Check and NDIS Clearance or willingness to obtain 
• If you already hold completed a Certificate III in Aged or Disability, you will not be eligible for the role
