Role Description

Automotive Parts Interpreters sell automotive spares, replacement parts and accessories in dealerships, repair shops or retail stores. This is a pathway that can lead to a variety of opportunities in automotive, sales, customer service, or administration.

What you’ll be doing…
You will complete a Certificate III Automotive Sales Apprenticeship over 36 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Identify the make, models of automotive equipment
  • Ensure parts are appropriately put away and warehoused  
  • Talk to customers and recommend appropriate parts
  • Check databases to identify and locate parts
  • Order parts from warehouse and external suppliers
  • Prepare invoices for the sale of stock.
  • Process cash and credit transactions
  • Collect, pack and dispatch or delivery ordered parts
  • Participate in stocktaking and update computer data
  • Set up merchandise displays
