Apprenticeship Careers Australia are currently looking for an enthusiastic and articulate individual for a full-time traineeship position with Goulburn Mulwaree Council. 

Role Description

In this traineeship position you will be working full-time in the local art gallery, assisting in the day-to-day operations and community-centred programs. During the traineeship you will gain valuable on-the-job experience while studying in order to complete your qualification.

Your daily duties will include:

  • Assistance with gallery administration
  • Assisting with communications on behalf of the gallery via email and phone
  • Writing and compiling social media posts to promote the activities of the gallery
  • Assisting with the installation and de-installation of art exhibitions
  • Assisting in running a range of workshops and public programs
  • Assisting with the management and maintenance of digital outcomes including the gallery's website
  • Assisting with day-to-day operations including welcoming guests into the gallery, answering enquiries via phone and email and processing art gallery payments
  • Documenting registration into the council's electronic document management system
  • Other duties as required.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of spoken and written English.
  • Have a passion for multiple aspects of Visual and Creative Arts.
  • Be an enthusiastic team player, ready to learn and gain new skills.
  • Have outstanding communication skills and be comfortable meeting and working with people from a range of demographics and backgrounds.
  • Have outstanding attention-to-detail and time management skills.
  • Be able to adapt quickly to new situations and changing priorities.
  • Not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.

To be eligible for this position you must:

  • Identify has having a disability
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Have received all required COVID-19 Vaccinations.
  • Have or be able to clear a Police Check.
  • Have or be able to get a Working with Children Check.
  • Be willing and able to participate in pre-employment medical checks.
  • Willing to undertake the relevant formal qualifications with TAFE

A Driver's Licence is not essential, but is preferred.
