Innovative program bringing more jobs to the disability support sector

As part of a NSW Government initiative, More Jobs More Care (MJMC), Apprenticeship Careers Australia is set to help increase access to community care for those living with disability, by creating a ready-made workforce for local support employers.

The 4-week training scheme will deliver the opportunity for 2500 individuals across South West Sydney, the Hunter, the Mid-North Coast, Murrumbidgee, and Western NSW to learn all about being a disability support worker by studying part of a certificate course as well gain hands-on experience with a work placement!

What will this program offer job seekers?

  • Invaluable hands-on experience as a disability support worker

  • Mentoring support during the training and ongoing professional development upon commencing work

  • Minimum of 5 accredited modules, including a First Aid Certificate, which count towards a Certificate III in Individual Support

  • Possibility to continue and complete a Certificate III in Individual Support

  • Free participation in the program

  • National Police, Working with Children's and NDIS Checks – we will organise these and cover the cost!

  • Many participants will end up with a job once training has been completed
