Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA) are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to undertake a Personal Care Assistant Traineeship with one of our well-established and reputable host employers in the aged care sector.

We are looking for individuals with a passion for helping people achieve their goals.

Previous experience is not essential as we are seeking someone who has the right attitude, is dependable, reliable, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

Role Description:

The successful candidate will be employed by ACA and will undertake a 12-month traineeship, working on-site with our host employer; a leading residential aged care provider in Mornington, and will complete a Certificate IV in Ageing Support.

Duties include:

  • Provide residents with friendly and compassionate assistance
  • Assist residents with daily personal, and hygiene care tasks
  • Assist residents with social, recreational and leisure activities
  • Support residents’ mobility with the use of equipment
  • Assistance with laundry items and personal attire
  • Provide support and assistance to maintain a clean, safe and homelike environment for residents


Candidate Requirements:

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Willing to commit to completing a Certificate IV in Ageing Support
  • Demonstrate cooperation, respect, consideration, and tact in dealing with others (supervisors, peers, clients)
  • Aptitude for working and communicating effectively with participants and their families
  • Ability to prioritise requirements


Candidates must have, or be willing to obtain:

  • Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Police Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Valid NDIS Screening
  • Flu vaccination
